Resources for Teachers
The Languages of RI Project was completed by the graduate students of the M.Ed. in TESL Program at Rhode Island College. Over the past 3-4 years, our graduate students have been developing informational PowerPoints to aid RI teachers in understanding the distance students are traveling from their native languages and countries to English in the United States.
The booklists were developed by M.Ed. TESL and M.Ed. in Reading students at Rhode Island College as part of a class on Reading and Writing for ESL students. The goal of this project is to serve as a resource to the wider educational community by preparing helpful culturally and linguistically relevant booklists for classroom teachers serving ELLs.
